Things I Hope to Always Remember

We play a lot of cards ( mainly phase 10) and we sometimes like to play it outside very late at night. So last night the weather was so awesome that we set up a table on our back porch and had dinner then played phase 10. Parker won. I only say that because he doesn't get to win very often. :)
I took some pictures because as we were playing I was thinking... this is the life. No matter how poor we are, no matter what happened at work that day, no matter how annoying my hair had been all day, for these few moments it was just us. Having fun. Best friends laughing and playing together while everything else seemed to not matter.
Sometimes after a yucky day at work, I have a hard time believing that "men are that they might have joy". But then Heavenly Father reminds me what it's all for by giving me a perfect night with the love of my life over a game of Phase Ten on the tiny back porch of our apartment.
Life is good.

  1. I think what you figured out is that true joy does not come from things of the world but from eternal things like family. There is nothing the world has to offer that could bring me the satisfaction and joy that my family and the gospel does. Glad you had a fun night together - I love Phase Ten.

  2. We love phase 10! And I was thinking that we need to get together for the office wedding next week. But I've had Season of Hope practice every Thursday night so that would be tricky :( And I like your new header :)

  3. I love that Candice. What a great point! That really is life. I need to take more photos of day to day life since that is truly what it's all about. :)
