Parker and I were sitting in the hot tub tonight imagining what would be the perfect dinner. We got on the subject that I have never had lobster. Well, I had a good day of tips so we went to Walmart (yes, our Walmart has live lobsters... weird) and we picked out a live lobster. They put it in a huge box and I wouldnt touch it. We got home and Parker put the box on the counter and I started moving some stuff around and I was about to move the box when I remembered what was in the box and I almost hit the ceiling! I realize it was stupid to be freaked out by this living thing in a box. Maybe it came from a childhood with no pets but Yikes!
Here's the little booger... looking up at us... GROSS!
We got on Food Network to see how Alton Brown says to cook Lobster and he told us to put it in the freezer first. We did that for about one minute and then realized that his recipe wanted us to bake it on some kind of rocks and we said forget that! So, Parker got it out and threw it into the pot. I think it started to freak him out a little too. Maybe it was me freaking out next to him but anyway. You'll have to watch the video of that. To watch the video double click on the play button and it will take you to the video.
First attempt at the freezer.... Then THE POT OF DOOM!
And we had the most wonderful dinner that was probably 8,000 calories after the butter but totally worth it! Good times!

Christmas 2009!
We started off the season by having dinner with John and Stephanie Alston (which was delicious homemade lasagna) and then looked at the lights on Dovewood ct. Super fun night. oh, and we watched charlie Brown Christmas afterwards.
This court puts up mega lights. the line of cars is crazy to get in to see them. We parked at a friends house and walked through. Here are a couple of the houses...
Then we went up to the Humes house up in Grass Valley. my brther- in- law Morgan was visiting from Rochester, New York. ( that's him and me in the picture below) ad also my brother- in- law Tucker and his wife Serena were visiting from Chino, CA ( which is by LA).
This night we all went to eat at the most wonderful steak house called The Owl. Best blue cheese dressing EVER!
On Christmas Eve night we had Christmas with my brothers and Lindey and Zack since evetyone had to go there separate ways the next day. I know it's a terrible picture but alas, the only one I have.
Parker and I did stay the night at mom and dad's house for Christmas morning. We had a really nice Christmas with just the four of us
Momade us this quilt for our living room. it matches my colors.
i'm not sure if mom is sneezing or laughing in this picture.
As tradition would have it every Christmas after opening presents and a huge fatty breakfast I take a beautiful nap... and Parker wanted to take a picture of it.
While I was sleeping Parker and Dad went for a Christmas day flight. they had a great time. While the guys did there thing Mom and I went up to visit with Grandma. She wrote a biography for me for Christmas! it is great so request copy.
That night we went back to the Humes and played lots of games and had a really nice ham dinner.

Thanksgiving trip to Utah
This Thanksgiving we tooka short trip out to Utah to visit Melissa and her family and Carolyn and her family. We drove there with Dad, Mom had flown out earlier but we had her with us for the drive back... Good Times! Oh, and random... we were in the middle of nowhere at a gas station in Nevada that we normally wouldn't stop at and we just happened to run into the Hoopes boys who were also on their way to Utah. later we stopped at a rest stop and Dad knew somebody there! Crazy!
Of course I HAD to make my jalapeno and spicy sausage Stuffing. Unfortunately I killed it by burning it and cooking it wrong... to bad so sad.
We had a great time playing with our nephews! Caelan ( I dont know how to spell the kids name so sound it out :) had a great time playing with the remote control car that Uncle Parker brought for him.
And Will had fun sitting in the dirt... I love this picture, So cute!
This was great because parker fell asleep on the couch and Will just climbed right up and took a seat!
Then, on Friday we went to visit with Carloyn's family for a bit. We had lunch and went to the Mormon history museum.
I absolutely love seeing this temple. I have seen it a bunch of times but always have to take a picture. It's incredible!
This is me with the Woods in front of a real pioneer cabin. It was one of the few structures still standing from when the pioneers first settled. Amazing
My favorite thing in the whole place was these death masks of Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith. How cool is that.
Upstairs they have a room for all the prophets. here is the display for Gordon B. Hinckley.
Parker practicing being and apostle... hahaha
We introduced them to Charlie brown and they couldnt get close enough. it was great!

Fiddler on the Roof!
Fiddler is finally here! I have been working on this play for what seems like forever and yet not at all... ya weird, I know. It has been so long since I have done a play, I keep hearing different theatre terms that I forgot I knew and as with every play I wonder how I will ever memorize my lines! Well, The lines are memorized, the dances down and the songs are ready to go. This Saturday is our first run through of the entire show and I can't wait to see the whole thing.
Fiddler has always been one of my favorite musicals and it is so special to me that I get to be in it and have the part I always wanted.
I'll also be doing hair, so i am working with extensions for the girls and beards for the guys and temporary hair color for the lead. Seems like a lot for a people that always have there heads covered, doesn't it? :) I absolutely love it and i hope evryone comes to see it to support Dana and Rachainne because they have done a great job!
If you can't read the poster above...
The show dates are : Nov. 20th, 21st and 23rd
show times are: Fri. 8pm, Sat 2:30 and 7pm, and Monday 7pm
It will be at Woodcreek Highschool

just remembered ...The Importance of being Earnest
The other night I was watching this movie with my mom and i remembered how much I love every line in the movie. It is the coolest thing ever written. Who can deny lady bracknell of having the coolest lines. Like when Earnest Worthing tell Lady Brackell that he was found as a baby in a handbag...
"Mr. Worthing. i must confess that i am somewhat bewildered by what you have just told me. To be born or at any rate bred in a handbag, whether it has handles or not, seems to me to display a contempt for the ordinary decencies of family life, which reminds one of the worst excesses of the French revolution. And i presume you know what that unfortunate movement lead to."
I love it.
