Julie's Bridal Shower
This was Julie's shower. it was a lot of work but i think it turned out cute. so, i had spent hours making these little bit sized brownie pops, and then created this facial cake. both were really cute and i thought i was so prepared. well, here's some advice for people considering traveling with a cake in 100 degree weather.... bad idea. the whole way there the cakes face was melting off to one side but, i thought, i can fix it, i can fix it, just get there! Then, an old lady in front of unexpectedly slammed on her brakes and all of the brown pops (70 of them!) went flying off the back seat to under my seat!!! It was the worst. Fortunately, most of then stayed on the wax paper they were on and i was able to unstick them and save them, but what a mess! Thank goodness for the near by store that we bought a cake from at the last minute, that was delicious. I think we all had fun seeing the family and i hadn't seen my new cousin Haley yet! she's soooo cute.

our valentines penguin
So, for valentines day we decided to do a cake like they do on "Ace of Cakes". Of course, we needed to do a penguin. It was way harder than we thought. First off, black frosting turns your mouth black. Then the cake tipped over so it was going to have to be on it's back. Then the cake started sinking. it was the biggest mess we ever made, but it was super fun! Now, we have a lot more respect for cake decorators.
